Okay, an overdue update...

Okay, last night at scrapbooking I was told that I needed to update my blog about my weight loss. I'm proud to report that I have lost 28 pounds since December. I have gone down 4 bra sizes, 3 shirt sizes and 2 pant sizes! Oh, don't forget the shoes too! I actually lost weight in my feet! My flip flops from last summer are too big! I always had to buy a larger size in the shoes because my feet were so wide, now I'm back down to a 5. I liked being a 6 because it was easier finding shoes, oh well.

Here are a before and after picture. Sorry I don't have a better before at Christmas.

Auburn Christmas Eve and our house Christmas Day

Us on Easter Sunday at church and me and my 2nd cousin Barbara. We didn't know we were cousins until my wedding day when she showed up with Mike's uncle. They have been married 53 years and my parents saw her at the wedding and put it all together. Really small world. Barbara had a stroke about 8 years ago and it has left her paralyzed and unable to speak. She was a very active lady. They lived in Elba and she owned and ran Aunt B's Bed and Breakfast. After her stroke they had to sell the business and moved to North Carolina. They moved back to Elba about 3 weeks ago and have decided that they are at home.

13 pounds and 1 pants size!

Well, I've been on this life style change (notice I didn't say diet) since January 4th and have lost 13 pounds and am down 1 pants size! I've also noticed in my tops that they are fitting looser as well. It hasn't been nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm loving the way that I'm feeling, more energy, can do things better than I could before, not as tired. I have at least 50 more pounds to go to be happy with myself. It will be a long road but I know that I will eventually get there.

A New Year, A New Me!

Well, we made it through our trip to Disney, trips to Auburn and Gulf Shores for Thanksgiving and survived the Christmas madness of celebrating in Auburn, Wetumpka and Montgomery. In all we celebrated Christmas 4 times if I remember correctly. Christmas is all packed away and the house is returning to somewhat normal. School started back last Wednesday and I'm glad to be back into a routine. I decided this year that I'm going to do something about my weight because I HATE the way I look right now. My church has started a Body and Spirit weight loss challenge and I signed up for it. I was shocked (in a good way) about the number on the scale at the inital weigh in. I came home and reweighed myself and the scales at the church were 7 pounds lighter! That following Wednesday I committed myself to Weight Watchers for 15 weeks. Guess what, their scales were 7 pounds lighter than my scales at home. Guess where those old scales are now?? Not in my house!! Sunday was the first weigh in at church and I was down 5 pounds from the previous Sunday and today I was down 4 pounds from last Wednesday. I'm really going by my Weight Watchers weight but like having the church to help keep me accountable half way through the week. Helps me reduce the urge to cheat. My goal right now is to lose 40 pounds by Easter. I think I can do it if I try hard! Emily will be turning 5 in about 5 weeks and I would like to see a total of 21 pounds gone by then. If I can lose 3 pounds by next Wednesday then I will have managed to break my plateu that I've never been able to get past before.

It is hard to believe that in a few weeks my baby will be 5 and in August will be starting Kindergarten! Where has the time flown?? She is growing up and changing so much right now. Her vocabulary has really grown in the last 2 months. She is using words that I didn't think she knew and putting them in the right context. I wish I could keep her little. She's almost gotten to where she doesn't want me to rock her at night anymore before bedtime. That makes me sad because that was one of my most favorite parts of the day to spend with her.
