Okay, so I'm a little late posting this, we actually got back Thursday night. We had the best time!! Weather was perfect, 74-80 every day, just a little breeze. Wednesday it rained while we were eating supper so we headed back to the hotel after we ate and turned in early for the first time the whole week, 8:00pm. Thursday morning it was really muggy and you broke a sweat when you stepped outside. We packed the car. went to Pop cafe and had Pop waffles, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and sausage then we hopped in the van for one last trip to the Magic Kingdom.
We spent the day at the Magic Kingdom on Tues. Emily got to pick a prize and she picked a Tinkerbell doll from Toontown. It was a really cute doll. She loved on Tinkerbell and carried her everywhere we went. She went to sleep with her in her stroller, etc. Later in the day I had trouble with charging privelges with my room card so I had to stop by the front desk when we got back to the hotel. While I was working
on it Mike and Emily sat in the lobby and waited on me. We walked back to the room and were getting ready for bed and Emily asked where her Tinkerbell was. I had no clue. We stripped that room looking for it and could not find it anywhere. She cried and cried and cried when we realized she must have left it in the lobby. I put my clothes back on (was already in my pj's) and my shoes and took my very tired and sore feet back to the front desk and it wasn't there. Retraced our steps in the food court and it wasn't there. Stopped in the gift shop and didn't see it. I saw the girl that had helped me an hour before and told her what happened and I described the doll to her. She went to the back to look to see if anyone had turned it in and couldn't find it. She took me to the wall where the dolls are. I told her that I had already taken the tags off the doll after we bought it and I still had them in my pocket. We looked through the dolls to make sure someone hadn't picked it up and placed it in with the ones that were still for sale. It wasn't there and I thanked the girl for helping me. I turned around to walk off and when I did she said
"Oh wait m'aam, look, a doll with no tags!" as she ripped the tags off the doll. I was shocked. She told me to take the doll and go make her happy. I about skipped to the room because I knew we were finally going to get to go to bed (it is now after 11pm). When I got back in the room I pulled the doll from behind my back (Mike said Emily cried the entire 45 minutes I was gone). She acted so happy. I gave her the doll, she looked at it and then threw it down. I asked her what was wrong and she said it wasn't her doll!!! I told her it "was" her doll and that I found it in the gift shop. Then Emily said, "Mommy, where are Tinkerbell's teeth?" I looked at Mike and he looked at me and then Emily said, "see her teeth are missing and where are the rest of her wings?" I didn't know what to say but somehow convinced her that it was her doll and she went to bed. I went back through my camera looking for pictures of her with the doll and guess what, it was not the same doll! The original doll had her mouth open smiling and you could see the white teeth and the wings were different. I felt horrible. I had already told Mike that when we go back to the Magic Kingdom on Thursday before we leave I was going to replace it without her knowing about it. We were standing in line for the Fairies for an hour and half so I snuck away and bought another doll and swapped it out. The cast member at the cash register and I were talking and I told her what had happened earlier in the week and she said when the doll "magically reappeared" to let the trading pin of Tink reappear with it.
Emily must have held that doll for 30 minutes before she realized it was different. She looked
shocked and said "Mommy, look her teeth came back and so did her wings! It is magic!!" We convinced her that Tinkerbell was happy that she came to see her and was patient and stood in the long line to see her. Emily is just as convinced as ever that it is her original doll. I even remembered to leave the plastic "tag holder" on the back of her neck like the original doll so there was no way she wouldn't figure out it wasn't the original one.
